Rahul's farm is an ancestral farm founded in 1941 located in the fertile Tarai region of Uttarakhand, just below the Himalayas. Rahul started farming in 1991 and incidentally this is the diamond jubilee year of the farm and silver jubilee of Rahul's advent into farming making it a special landmark to launch this effort to reach out to more buyers like you who wish to use technology to buy fresher produce directly from farmers.
On a farm where traditionally sugarcane, wheat and soybean was produced, Rahul slowly introduced exotic vegetables and fruit over the last twenty years and was perhaps the first in the country to produce Asparagus and Sweetcorn. Suppliers to five star hotels, restaurants and retailers in New Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur and Chandigarh buy most of the farm's produce while some produce is exported to Dubai.
To ensure uninterrupted supply of certain cold season vegetables Rahul has used the advantage the varied geography his state Uttarakhand has to offer by farming in the hills during the summer season. All the growing is done in the open which is the most natural way and in the right season to ensure least chemical use.
The produce is grown with an integrated approach to pest management to ensure least possible chemical residues. Organic methods and bio-control are integrated with the safest and newest chemicals to make the produce safe, tasty and last longer.
The logistics to supply fresh produce overnight from the farm to buyers in Delhi already exists and the extension of the same network to sell to retail buyers directly in Delhi NCR is a natural step forward.
Initially we are offering to deliver only some of our selected produce in Delhi NCR and Districts of Udham Singh Nagar and Nainital in Uttarakhand; and in time to come we will strive to grow more variety of produce and offer a wider basket to our buyers, as also strive to make our produce available in more cities and towns.
